In re: Olivewood Cemetery, 11th Judicial District Court, Harris County, Texas — Lead trial counsel for Descendants of Olivewood, Inc. in successful suit for statutory custodianship of historic Olivewood Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Ross v. People’s Choice Home Loans, et. al., 55th Judicial District Court, Harris County, Texas — Trial counsel for a real estate broker and sales agent in successful defense on take-nothing summary judgment of a complex, multi-million dollar, mortgage fraud lawsuit concerning multiple properties and brought by multiple plaintiffs against numerous defendants.

Representative Engagements:

Lead trial counsel for homeowners in lawsuits against an out of state contractor for violations of Texas law associated with post-hurricane construction work that resulted in substantial damage to the clients’ homes. Obtained sizable judgments and awards of attorneys’ fees and costs in clients’ favor.

Trial counsel for local real estate developer in defense of lawsuit brought by a national homebuilder during the 2008-2009 recession to escape its obligations under a lot purchase agreement.

Representation of property owner in quiet title action resolving undocumented and improperly documented transfers of title to real property.

Representation of local business in the perfection and filing of mechanic’s and materialman’s liens securing payment for services rendered and/or materials provided for the improvement of real property.
